make this for dinner...

I made this yummy recipe from Pioneer Woman tonight (pasta with roasted red pepper sauce). It turned out great. I improvised a little because I forgot to buy pine nuts, so I used a little bit of tomato sauce and some extra spices. I also threw in a chopped up chicken breast because Matt has to have meat with his pasta. I also cheated and used jarred roasted red peppers. It was delicious! I'll make this again for sure. You should make it :)

My little garden

Matt made me a space for a little garden in our front yard. It's over on the side next to our driveway. Before we landscaped our backyard I planted a bigger garden and had tomatoes and squash coming out of my ears. This is a smaller space and allowed me just enough space for a few plants. After I planted the plants Matt even installed some drip irrigation so I don't have to water by hand... yay! Thanks honey :)

I planted a roma tomato, a regular tomato and a little yellow grape tomato
a bell pepper
a squash and a cucumber
Hopefully my little garden yields me some delicious veggies come summer :) There is nothin liek home grown produce.

I also have my first rose blooms of the season. This is an English rose bush and the roses smell delicious.

Spring is in the air! I'll show some pictures of all my flowers when I finished getting those planted :)

Finally some pictures

Wow, a week without me posting pictures, that's a lot of time! I know you were all eagerly awaiting some exciting pictures of our lives ;)

Here are a few from this morning before we left for church. It was near impossible to get Ethan to look at the camera so that we could both get a picture with him.

This was an exciting freebie we got this week. I had been wanting to get Ethan one of these cool little cars and a friend from church didn't want hers anymore, so she gave it to us for free. Score! Ethan loves it. Of course my little daredevil has to try to stand in it and has gotten stuck trying to crawl out the back window part. He's also knocked it over onto himself a few times. He loves when I push him around in it.
Here is a belly shot from this morning. I am 15 weeks pregnant now. It's so funny because my belly looks way bigger in the evening, then in the morning it's smaller again. I guess all that food I eat during the day makes a difference!
We made it …

Randomness from my week

Ethan has transitioned from two naps to one. His morning nap time was my "computer time". Him not napping in the morning has meant that I hardly get any time in front of the computer, since he throws a major fit if I'm sitting here on the computer and not paying attention to him. By the time his afternoon nap rolls around I don't feel like sitting in front of the computer. Usually I'm trying to nap myself these days. Hopefully I won't need an afternoon nap for much longer since I am not in my second trimesterSpeaking of my second trimester I still have that darn nausea, but I think it's starting to gradually get better. I at least have a few good days here and there.I am LOVING the gorgeous spring weather. We have been spending the majority of our days outside. In fact Ethan is outside right now, which is the only reason I can blog :) He literally wants to be outside from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed. I suppose that's certainl…

oh boy am I in for it!

Yesterday I was in another room and I hear "thump" proceeded by giggling from Ethan. I wasn't sure what he was up to, so I finished what I was doing and then went in to check on him. This is what I found him doing......

I think I'd better get to know the ER people now. This kid is going to give me a run for my money. Just so you know after I finished video taping him I stopped the jumping and am not allowing him to do this anymore.

While Ethan took a nice three hour nap this afternoon I scrapped. This was the first time I've scrapped in a couple of months because I usually nap when he does. However I got ten hours of sleep last night so I'm feeling pretty good today :)

Feeling Crafty?

Making handcrafted items is a dying art, but they are so fun to make & get! So, here's a little game to encourage the handcrafting to live & thrive!! The first {5} people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a super-duper handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well-before you leave your comment here, write up (or copy & paste as I did!) a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Remember that only the first FIVE comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick! If I don't already e-mail you, can you please leave me your e-mail address in the comments as well :)

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! But I will try my best to make sure you like it

A visit from Tawny and Sammy

My friend Tawny came over yesterday with her little girl Sammy. Sammy is six months older than Ethan. Tawny is also about two weeks away from giving birth from her next baby... little Travis. We had a nice time visiting outside while the kiddos ran around. The weather was beautiful.

Ethan and Sammy were so funny on the swing.....
Ethan: "Hey Sammy, what's happening?"

Sammy: "not much, but here's a kiss"

Ethan: "Wow, I think I like that!"

Ethan: "In fact I'm positive I like that. How about some more???? hehe. Here's a hug and if you turn around I'll plant another one on your forhead"
Sammy: "Woah, hey there buddy, I was just being nice, you're taking this way too far."

Ethan: "Come back!"
Sammy: "Get away from me!"
That's right Sammy, you have to practice telling those boys no! haha

After playing outside for quite some time the kiddos cooled off with some yummy popsicles.

Thanks for coming …

Ethan playing in the backyard

Here are some more pictures I took of Ethan on Sunday playing in the backyard.

and one of my handsome hubby :)
Ethan loves to climb up in his stroller and sit
He thought it was funny to peek out at us

12 week belly picture

This picture was taken last week when I was 12 weeks (now I'm 13). Some odd recent cravings are carrots and those Yoplait Whips yogurts. I'm still feeling sick all the time but happy to be in the last week of my first trimester. It's so funny that I am taking belly pictures this early. My belly didn't even start to stick out with Ethan until I was 15 weeks.

painting and a birthday

Yesterday Matt made great progress on painting the outside of the house. We've been working on it here and there for quite some time now. He probably has about 4 more days of work to do and then he'll finally be finished. The hard part has been the darn eves... scraping, priming and painting them has taken up the bulk of his time.

Ethan thought it was funny that Matt was on the ladder and kept tapping his legs and trying to climb up with him.

I love these next two pictures of Ethan. It's so rare I can get him to look at the camera these days.

Ethan is now big enough to climb up onto my swing. He loves to climb up and just sit on it. It's his new favorite place in the backyard.
This weekend was my mom's birthday. Yesterday Ethan and I met her and her friend Beth for lunch at the Kopper Kettle. Ethan was great and enjoyed a whole plate of french fries while we ate. Today after church she came over and I made some yummy steaks, baked potatoes and roasted asparag…
