more videos

Wow, I am on a roll posting three more videos! These are from the past couple of days.

The first one is from last night. I just thought it was so cute and so very "boy" the way Ethan was playing with his car.

The next one is from this morning. Ethan was just being silly laying on the floor and I was tickling him. I love his giggle when we tickle him.

The last one is from just a little while ago. Ethan learned how to open the back door last week and has had quite a good time opening and closing it. He also does a little dance at the end of the video.

It's a.....

Hairbows and dresses here we come :) When I went in for my ultrasound the technician was able to tell the sex right away, but I waited until Matt could come in the room to find out the sex. I was thinking that since they figured out the sex so quickly, then for sure it was a boy. So I layed there for about 20 more minutes thinking it was a boy. Matt came in and they showed us the pictures and told us it was a girl. I was very excited and surprised. We got several very good views of her goods and we could tell she was a girl. Here are the pictures:
  1. The first one is a shot of her bottom and her legs
  2. The second one is her side profile
  3. The third one is her side profile again and her hand is right next to her mouth.
  4. The last one is a shot of her face head on, it shows her mouth, nose and eyes
We can't wait to meet this sweet little girl. It was so much fun to see her move all around. I am so very excited that I will get to have a girl and a boy :)

I love....

... feeling the baby kick :) I have been feeling the baby for the past four weeks or so, however in the past week the flutters have turned into kicks. Matt even felt the baby kick for the first time on Saturday. I just love feeling the baby.

Tomorrow is our ultrasound. We are really hoping this little guy or gal shows us his or her goods! :)

The weekend

We've had a pretty chill weekend. Both Matt and I have been really tired lately due to lack of sleep. We've gotten to bed late and then Ethan has been waking up several times a night (I think due to his eye teeth coming in). Anyhow, we are not very well rested around here right now. Friday it was so nice to stay home. We put Ethan to bed and then ordered some sushi (nothing raw for me of course). I had wanted to watch a movie but found that I was too tired to pay attention, so we went to bed pretty early... around 9:00. However no rest for the weary since Ethan was up about 4 times that night. *sigh*. The hard part about Ethan waking up is that it takes me a while to go back to sleep after I have to get up. Anyhow, enough complaining :)

I keep forgetting to post a picture of our house since Matt has finished painting the front. I think we started painting it way back in the fall, but didn't make much progress all winter. Then this spring Matt has been working at getting it finished. Painting a house with eves like ours is a lot of work! It had to be scraped, primed and painted. He still has to finish up the trim around the windows in the back.

Here is a picture of our house before we even moved into it:
Here is a not so great picture of it that I took yesterday. It's hard to tell because it's kinda dark, but the trim is brown now.
Saturday morning we relaxed and hung out around the house. Both the boys also got much needed hair cuts. After Ethan's nap we did some gardening. I accidentally posted the three pictures below in the wrong order. You get to see the "after" picture first :) Matt planted a meyer lemon tree and a bunch of groundcover (pink and yellow iceplant) in this patch of dirt we have next to our driveway.

Here is the dirt before:
Ethan doing what he does out front.... running around (and doing things he's not supposed to do... like step into the street). I love this shirt that Danielle gave him... it says "hello, my name is Trouble". It's so true right now! haha

Today we went to church and then lunch at Kopper Kettle with Matt's parents (you're surprised aren't you... hehe). Even though I am so very tired I chose to scrap today during Ethan's nap instead of napping myself. It's the only chance I usually have to do something "fun". Here is the page I did for our family album:

Hope you're all having a terrific weekend! I'm going to go talk Matt into taking Ethan to the park with me :) Hopefully we will get some good sleep here this week :)

a bucket of water

While I was blogging yesterday Ethan was playing outside. I filled up a bucket of water for him to play with, figuring he'd splash in it a little. I didn't feel like getting his pool out, as it requires me to be right there with him because it has a slide attached that can be slippery and dangerous. Anyhow, Ethan ended up having quite a bit of fun with this bucket of water.

He kept climbing in and out of it, sitting in it and he even put his face in it a few times.

Then it fell over. He immediately got up and started asking for more because he wanted me to fill it back up, haha.
Here is a video clip of his fun:

videos

Here are a few videos from the past few weeks.

The first one is Ethan learning how to jump with Matt. He was so funny because he kept trying, but couldn't get his feet off the ground.

This next one is from last week while I was cleaning. As soon as I get the vacuum out Ethan steels the tubes and does this....

The last one is from this morning. It's nothing special, just Ethan playing outside with the dog crate.

this week so far

It's been a hot week! We had temperatures in the high 90's for a few days in a row. I got Ethan's little kiddy pool out and he had a blast playing in it. I didn't take any pictures... I will next time. I also took him to the park 2 mornings in a row. We went earlier since it was so hot. Thankfully today is is cooler and more like spring. The hot weather made me realize I'm not quite ready for the intense heat of summer.

Last night my mom was honored with a special award for being a super duper awesome secretary, so I went to see her get the award. It felt funny to be on the opposite end of the camera at an awards ceremony. It was me taking pictures of her instead of visa versa :) Afterwards we went to the Thai House for dinner.
This morning I finished cleaning my house. I find that if I do half one morning and half the next morning it is much more manageable. It's not that I have such a huge house and it is so much work, it's mostly that Ethan makes it very difficult for me to clean these days. I find that it's easier to split up into two chunks. On the days I need to clean he is almost always the most needy. Funny how that works huh? ANyhow, I'm quite happy to have a clean house and the laundry all done today :)

Here are a few pictures I took of Ethan a little bit ago:
He is wearing his new Reef's. When I was pregnant with him I remember being at the beach with Matt and seeing these little baby Reef's in a surf shop. They look just like Matt's but they have a strap in the back. Anyhow, I thought they were so cute but didn't buy them at the time. A few weeks ago I went to Nordstrom and used a gift card my mom had given me to buy them. I'm not normally a name brank junkie, but I just couldn't resist these. They are too cute.

Enjoying a grahm cracker
This morning Ethan did something he has always wanted to do. He climbed onto the couch all by himself. He was very excited about his, however it doesn't thrill me. Now that's one more place he can climb and tries to stand. I constantly have to make him sit down.

Lastly here are two pages I scrapped on Sunday:
(oops... I just realized I wrote the wrong date on that page, Stephen was born the day before.... argh!)

Oh, and a few random thoughts:
  • I love love love the smell of orange blossoms in the spring... oh how yummy they are
  • for some reason I can't get enough grahm crackers lately. They are just so yummy to me. What would really be yummy is some of Jolene's frosting to spread in between them... yum.
  • speaking of yummy I also love lemonade lately. When I'm not pregnant it kills me to drink calories, so I normally stay away from beverages like that, however since I'm already a heffer I don't care right now :)
  • Stay tuned, I'm going to post a few videos now

18 weeks

Wow, I haven't blogged in a week... that is a long time for me! It's been a busy week but not really eventful. We've just been up to our usual stuff plus a few extras :) I won't bore you with all my details. Here is a quick rundown of my very exciting life, lol:
  • the gym, grocery shopping and errands
  • brought dinner to a friend that had a baby
  • went to a parenting seminar at church
  • watched the youngest 2 Oates boys one morning. Ethan and Grady had a blast playing together.
  • dinner with the Flores family on Thursday
  • Tmoms on Friday morning and Bunko on Friday night
  • birthday party for Mr. Jonathan Odenbaugh who turned one on Saturday.
  • church today followed by lunch at Chili's

Yesterday I had Matt take a picture of me to show my belly. I am now 18 weeks along. I am just barely starting to feel better. Really only the past couple of days have been better. The nausea has lasted longer with this pregnancy. I am hoping that I will feel completely better very very soon because quite frankly I am SICK of feeling sick. I am relieved to be feeling a bit better :) A week from Tuesday we have our ultrasound and can hopefully find out if this is a little guy or a gal :)

I am going to go scrap now while Ethan naps and hopefully get a few layouts done :)

A wonderful Easter

We had such a wonderful Easter. The weather was gorgeous! We went to church and then went over to my mom's for the day. The Flores family joined us and we had a great day. We enjoyed a delicious meal and some relaxing while both the babies took a three hour nap! That was awesome! Neither Ethan nor Christian usually sleeps that long, so we sure did enjoy it. I took a ton of pics so here they are.....

Our little family in our Easter green outfits :) You cant really tell but Ethan has on a little tie under his vest... it was too cute.

Me and my handsome hubby :)
Daddy and E playing

The Flores family looking all spiffy
My sweet momma with some of her pretty roses
Grammy & E
Danny & Matt enjoying my mom's beautiful back yard
The boys had a blast in my mom's bounce house.... especially because I filled it with all those plastic balls I showed in a previous post. Ethan's hair would get super staticy and stick up when he was in there, it was so funny.
Uncle Jerrod climbed in the bounce house with the boys and played with the balls with them. Ethan loves to climb on Jerrod and wrestle with him.
The guys played a round of bocce ball. I tried to play but one of us had to keep Ethan away because he kept picking up the bocce balls in the middle of the game.
Ahhhh.... relaxation :)
What a wonderful Easter! Thanks so much for hosting mom :)
