Grammy's Here!

My kids adore their grandparents.
We are so very fortunate to live close to both of them.
My kids are thrilled when they see their grandparents.
Whenever my mom comes over they will drop everything and run full force to her.
It's quite adorable.
The other day I happened to have my camera in hand when she came over, so I was able to snap a picture of Alayna running to her.
It melts her heart every time!

I have pictures to share, but I'm sitting out back with my Netbook while my kids play in the water table, so you're going to have to settle for a bunch of my random thoughts....

*Back in January Matt went through all of our finances and made charts and graphs and we had a "financial meeting" complete with a Powerpoint.  I love that he did this because let me tell you people, that area is NOT my strength.  Us creative types tend to live more in the moment and lack the patience and motivation to do something like that.  Matt made us a budget and we've happily been trying our best to stick to to it.  It feels so good to have that area on track, and I honestly like the budget.  We hadn't made a budget and actually stuck to it since we were first married.  The best part is that Matt takes care of it and keeps track of it all and lets me know where we're at.  He even does my bookkeeping and keeps track of all my business stuff :)  I'm sure happy to have so…

Egg hunt

The day before Easter Matt's parents had us, along with his brother Mike and kids, over for an egg hunt.  Marlene made us all a delicious breakfast and then we were onto the hunt in the freezing cold weather. We didn't get any sunshine Easter weekend, then two days later it was in the high 80s.

The kids were cute running around searching for eggs.

This was Alayna's first hunt and she caught on right away.  She was so cute.  She raced around with her bucket searching for eggs.

Alayna was quite excited once she realized there were jelly beans inside of the eggs.  She opened them all up and ate her loot.

We had a great Easter.
We went to church in the morning and then spent the afternoon at my mom's along with the Flores family, Matt's parents, my brother, Beth and Danielle.  It was relaxing and great.
We stuffed our bellies with hearts overflowing with thanksgiving, relaxed and visited.
I really didn't get my camera out much... just enough to get a few pictures of us all in our Easter best :)
The perfect kind of holiday :)

Alayna at 19 months

Alayna at 19 months. I want to freeze time... this age is really quite precious with her.

Vocabulary explosion and lots of cute babbling. Adores her brother and mimics everything he does.
Loves all of her "babies"... dolls, stuffed animals, etc. She hugs and kisses them and loves to pretend to feed them.
Very loving. Gives lots of sweet hugs and kisses... especially to her Daddy.
Fearless. She runs anywhere, climbs anything, and has a very adventurous spirit.
LOVES books. Constantly paging through books and asking us to read them to her.
Always happy. Makes us smile and laugh constantly.

Loves her doggy. Constatnly tries to play with Cookie... wrestles, chases and annoys.
Loves "pretties".... bracelets, necklaces, and anything girly. She loves to wear them and take them on and off

Oh sweet baby girl... you are growing bigger much too fast for me!!

Random tidbits and a recipe

*I've been a major slacker in posting pictures on my blog lately. I have lots that I've taken, I just haven't posted them.  I've had a busy month with my photography business (yay), which in turn means I'm sitting at the computer a lot working, and then I don't have time to blog.

*Matt was out of town last week and so I guess my body figured that would be a great time to come down with a nasty cold.  Ethan also decided it would be a great week to not nap and be really really difficult.  I think you probably get the picture.... it was a long week :)  I've been super bummed that I have felt too rotten to go to the gym... I was making good progress!  Hopefully I'll feel good enough to go by the end of the week.

*Here are a few recent pictures of bath time....

*This weekend I had photoshoots in Irvine, Los Angeles and Yucaipa.  I was all over the place.  The shoot in LA was at the LACMA.  Sadly that was the first time I've ever even been there, and I d…
