Tuesday morning thoughts....

Wow, three blog posts within a week.  A record lately.  A few random thoughts this morning...

-Lately I'm learning to let certain things go.  Type A personalities have a hard time with this :)  Two examples: This month I didn't dust my house for a month (that would have been unheard of a few years ago), and I managed to take three whole days off of work and enjoy them despite having 4 shoots that still needed to be edited and tons of other odds and ends that needed to be attended to.

-Lately I've been focusing a lot on how to take pictures with more fluid and natural movement, and how to make my subjects produce that natural and fun movement.

-I've tried to lower the amount of sugar and carbs I eat, and am feeling great for it (I'm not crazy about it, I just aim for under 100 grams of carbs a day).  I also don't crave them.  My tastes have totally changed.  I crave protein, fruits and veggies and things that are good for me (mostly)... and of course the occ…

Memorial Day

Today was just what the doctor ordered.....

Sleeping In.
Pancake breakfast with my family.
Playing in our PJs.
Swimming all afternoon at Papa & Grandma's.
BBQ-ing in our backyard.
Fun in the Garden and mud.
Kids in bed early and Matt and I watching the movie 21 Jump Street and relaxing on the couch.
Perfection :)

No pictures at the pool.  But we came home and Matt made mojitos with mint from our garden... so yummy and refreshing.

After dinner we went out to the side yard to water my garden.
Alayna found a puddle of mud, took of her clothes, and had a blast. She said the mud felt good on her skin.  It was her own personal spa :)
Me posting a picture of the kids playing in the mud on Instagram, lol.
My dirty little girl.... I love her free spirit,  she's so much like me

My squash is already so huge!  I'm so happy my garden is coming in so nicely :)  can't wait to eat some yummy veggies!

Love this picture Matt took... me taking a picture of them with my phone, lol…

Rib Smackin' Good

Yesterday was my first day off in quite a while, and you know what I very happily did?
Cleaned my house from top to bottom.  Yup, I was excited to clean.  How sad is that?  haha.  It's been about a month since I dusted, and like um... 2 months or more since I cleaned the master bath.  Gross huh?  Don't judge... I haven't had time.  I clean my kitchen and vacuum every week, but sometimes there just isn't time for the other stuff!  Anyhow, it felt great to get things clean and in order.  Matt spent the day smoking THE BEST PORK RIBS EVER!

Seriously, they were some of the best meat I've ever eaten.  We are serious carnivores over here.  He also made a pork butt, and while it was delicious, the ribs kind of out-shined the entire meal.

Who better to share such delicious food with than some of our dearest friends?  The Flores' came over and we had a wonderful evening together.

Aren't the kids cute?  They are saying "cheers" with their Italian sodas :)

Lately we've been busy.  That's actually kind of an understatement, lol.

Last week I had five photoshoots, booked two weddings, still managed to work out and somehow care for my children :)   Matt is a huge help.  Have I mentioned that I couldn't run my business without him??? Not only does he support me big time, he comes home and takes over the child care duties so that I can go do photoshoots.  He also keeps track of all of the financial and necessary business aspects of the business for me :)

This has been my busiest month yet.  So grateful for the business because we are taking a couple of vacations next month, however it's been pretty crazy busy!  I only had dinner with my family two times last week.... the other 5 evenings I was gone on shoots.  This weekend I have nothing booked, and am looking VERY forward to just being around home for three whole days :)  We plan to BBQ (despite the icky weather), work around the yard, clean, cook up some yummy meals, and j…
