Bump Diaries

I'm 39 weeks and 3 days right now. Hoping I don't have to post a 40 week photo :)  While I'm not feeling too bad, we are oh so ready to meet this sweet baby!  I'm ready to be done being pregnant and to hold this baby in my arms.

These last two pictures are from a couple of weeks ago.  Jolene and I have been pregnant together all three times... so special :)   She is due around August 20th with her little girl.  I'm so excited we get to have #3 close in age too :)

Fun with a box

The kids had fun playing with this huge box that had the patio furniture.... it only lasted two days before they tore it apart, lol.   Don't mind that they are still in jammies and looking like raggamuffins :)

Spring Break

I'm still pregnant :)  39 weeks today.  It's Friday of our spring break, and it's been a really great week.  I have planned something fun every day for the kids.  I figure it's my last week of having just two kids, and I wanted to make it fun.  It's been so nice to have a relaxed schedule this week, not having to rush out in the morning.

The week's activities:

My friend Kelly came and picked up both kids and took them for the entire afternoon.  She took them hiking and for a picnic in Oak Glen, then back to her house for the rest of the afternoon.  When I picked them up they were exhausted and had had a super fun day.  Matt and I got to spend a great chunk of time together and it was really great :)  Our last date before baby!  We headed out to Victoria Garden's and had lunch at Cheesecake Factory.

Kelly sent me this picture of the kids hiking :)

After lunch we strolled around, and then went to several stores in search of a patio conversation set, which we have been wanting forever.  We were going to pay full price on this set, which we thought was a great deal.  We get up to pay and were super stoked to seriously get the deal of the century due to K-Mart having priced the set wrong.  Instead of getting this for $540 we got it for $250!!!!  Major score! We were so surprised the manager let us have it for that price.  Loss for K-Mart, gain for us!  It's super comfy and we have been enjoying it.  We are outside all the time so it is nice to finally have something like this :)

We enjoyed a leisure morning at home, just relaxing, eating leftover chocolate birthday cake, and being in our jammies.  I was sitting there watching them thinking how crazy it is that soon there will be someone else... another member of our family.

Later, I took the kids swimming at the pool at my mom's, since it's heated :)  It was about 80 degrees that day, and ended up being a really great afternoon.  My kids are fish and love being in the water.

We went to a local park and went on a very small hike.  Unfortunately Ethan wanted to hike while Alayna didn't. He was bummed she wouldn't go further, but I can't force her to hike.  I was hoping I'd walk the baby out, but I didn't, haha.  The kids each picked out a pair of sunglasses from the 99 Cent store and were excited to wear them.

We went to Chuckee Cheese.  Honestly I'm amazed at how excited my kids are by this place, because I think it's rather chintzy.  I spend $10 on 40 tokens, divide them up between the two, and they make it last about 45 minutes.  They love using their tickets to get a little prize. We ate lunch at Costco afterwards.  One of my favorite things about having kids this age is the simple things you can do to make their day exciting :)

We met up with friends at Sky Town (a trampoline place).  We ended up jumping for 2 1/2 hours and then enjoying the free lunch that is provided for Toddler time.  The lunch is actually really good, I can't beleive it's included it in the price!  I only paid $12.00 for the jumping and lunch for both kids!  We also enjoyed cupcakes that Teresa brought because it was Taelyn's birthday.

Grammy's Birthday

My mom had a birthday over the weekend, so we had her over for a special birthday meal.  On the menu was ribs, homeade corn bread, cole slaw, and potato salad.  She requested a chocolate cake for dessert, and I was quite proud of the one I made her!  It was delicious and pretty :)  I'm getting much better with cakes!  I realize I forgot to take a picture of my brother :(

Grammy is excited to meet her third grandbaby very soon :)

Marlene stopped by to give me a beautiful blanket she had knit for the baby, so she stayed for cake and a little visiting.

Happy birthday mom!  So glad we could celebrate you :)

Playing Around the House

We are currently on our first day of spring break.  It's 10:00 am, we are all still in jammies, and I'm about to have a piece of leftover chocolate birthday cake that I made my mom for a snack :) As you can tell I've been catching up on blogging, as this is my third post this morning :)  Soon I will pack us up a picnic and I'm going to take the kids swimming at my mom's house (since the pool is heated).

I've intentionally kept my big girl camera out in a place that is easy for me to get to, in the hopes that I would take more pictures around the house.  Having it within easy reach makes me much more likely to use it for every day life.  Here are some recent photos of the kids playing around the house.

The kids have been into building intricate train tracks lately.  This is an elevated track.  Pretty creative :)

The other day they built a bunny pen outside for their toy bunny.  They were very intent on filling up that container with different kinds of food for the bunny.  I told them they could not pick any of my flowers to complete this task after I realized they were picking my Iris leaves.

Ethan recently earned a new Lego set for filling up a sticker chart.  This was a huge prize for him to earn, I normally don't have them earn such big things, however his behavior has been VERY challenging lately, and this was one of the things he has been wanting (a new Lego set). He was very happy to earn it and put it together right away.

Last week I had my sister in law Heather bring Stephen over for the morning.  It was nice because these two cousins kept each other occupied while I got a ton done.  I'm in crazy nesting mode over here and I'm like a mad women lately trying to do all kinds of stuff around my house. I love that these two love each other so much and get along so well.  Out of all the cousins they are the closest in age (6 months apart).

Two More Teeth

Ethan lost two more teeth.  He seems to loose them in pairs.  Last summer he lost his first two teeth on the same day, and now this past week he lost two more teeth only a day apart.  He's a bit drama when he looses a tooth as he doesn't like how it feels to have it gone, but once he adjusts he's fine.

This is after loosing his first tooth.

And here he is after loosing the second tooth.

A couple of Randoms

I am 38 1/2 weeks pregnant.  We are so close to meeting this baby!!!  I am feeling less anxious and just more excited. For a while I was feeling pretty nervous about the reality of soon having three kids, and how life is going to change quite a bit having a baby around the house again. However that anxiety has subsided, and I know that we will adjust and life will become normal again at some point.  I am so curious who this little one is growing in my belly and we cannot wait to meet him or her.  I love this picture that I took with my cell phone last week :)

Legos, Legos and more Legos :)  Officially the most played with toy in this house.

A random picture of Alayna

Last month when we hosted our Thursday night dinner, the evening ended around the piano.  I loved it.  This was the most action our piano has seen :)  Sadly, I pooped out on my lessons back in November and haven't practiced at all, I've probably lost most of what I had learned over the 6 months prior.  I just don't have the time and energy right now to practice.  I hope to get back into it.

James and Jeff played a very heartfelt rendition of "My Heart Will Go On", from Titanic, haha.

Matt videoed their performance.
