Father's Day

Father's Day is always bittersweet for me.  It was the last day I spent with my dad, and I can't help but think about that day and miss him a lot.  This year Matt also had the heartache of missing his own dad.  We did our best and tried to just focus on the wonderful father that Matt is, and had a nice relaxing day. We went to church and then headed up to Oak Glen and had a picnic at Los Rios.  It was a gorgeous day.  We walked down the conservancy trail a bit to the little pond and just enjoyed being together.  I'm oh so grateful for the wonderful father that Matt is to our children.  I could go on and on, but I'll just leave it at that :)

Matt and his three little blessings :)
This melts my heart.  I love how sweet Alayna and Matt are together.  There's something extra special about a daddy-daughter relationship.  She's actually far more snuggly with Matt than she is with me.

An arm selfie with all FIVE of us :)
This was the little collage I posted on Faceb…

Everett is 3 months old

Our little sweetie is three months old. Thank GOODNESS the past couple of weeks he has been sleeping much better.  I have actually felt human :)  I am just soaking up every minute of this sweet baby.  He brings so much joy to our home.  I have to write down all of his milestones so that I can remember :)

At 3 months Everett: -Smiles and coos all the time -Is VERY close to giggling -Loves when we talk to him -Can clasp his hands together -Loves to suck on his hands -Has started drooling a bit and loves to blow spit bubbles -Is overall a very low key and happy baby.   The only time he's fussy is when he needs to go to sleep. -Sleeps 5-9 hours at night (I put him down between 7:00-8:00, then feed him again before I go to bed around 10:00, but he stays asleep.  Then he often wakes up anytime between 2:30-4:30, eats quickly then goes back down and sleeps until 6:00).

Finishing up being Two Months Old

Since Everett will be three months old tomorrow I figure I'd better post some pictures from this month :)  He is so much fun.... very happy and smiley. He brings so much joy to our home!

A few snapshots

It's been a while since I blogged about every day happenings, I feel a little behind.  Here are a few recent (from the last month) cell phone snapshots.

*First, check out the maternity pictures I did for the Flores family.  Isn't Jolene gorgeous?  I love how these turned out.  I'm SO SO SO excited to meet their baby girl :)

I got to get together with my sweet friend Crystal for lunch the other week.  She was in town visiting from Texas.  I haven't seen her in a few years.  We had our recent baby boys only a week apart and it's been fun to have someone to talk to all about pregnancy woes and newborn questions. Oh how I wish this girl lived closer!!!

Alayna and her sweet friends in their matching kitty dresses.  They were so cute.
On Memorial Day we went on a little hike.  It was Everett's first time on a hike outside of the belly :)  He did great.

During the WEEK that the kids had that weird stomach bug Ethan fell asleep on the couch.  This has seriously ne…

One of the first days we had off for summer break we went to a fun new park that I discovered in Riverside.  The kids had a blast there.  They had really great playground equipment, and a small splash pad, so the kids ran around in their bathing suits and then cooled off frequently.  We ended up staying for three hours, and even then I had to drag them away.  They had so much fun.  We'll definitely have to go back again.

The sand volleyball court was a makeshift beach for a while :)

I must say, I will one day really miss these days.... when the park is an exciting place for them, full of fun and adventure.  Simple pleasures (and free) are the best!

And a cute picture of my boys... Ethan snuggling Everett after he woke up :)

This past weekend we traveled up to Sacramento for my niece Amanda's wedding. We began the trip with excitement, hoping for a nice weekend away :)

While it was a nice trip, it was also pretty rough.  This was our first road trip with three kiddos, and one of them an infant.  The drive up went really well.... for a while.  Everett actually did fabulous and slept most of the time.  However when we had about 2 1/2 hours to go poor Alayna started throwing up.  Mike and Heather's kids had all had it the night before, and Heather got it on the way up.  Poor Alayna was a trooper and we made it up to Sacramento.

Thankfully our accommodations were really great.  We stayed at a Residence Inn and had a two bedroom suite, for which we were very grateful. That night she was sick again, and we got little sleep between her being sick and me having to get up with Everett a couple of times.  The next morning everyone seemed at least mostly okay, so we went to Old Town Sacramento and walked ar…
