Fun in the water

One of our favorite parts about summer is swimming!  We are blessed that Matt's mom has a pool and we use it often.  Every Wednesday during the summer we've been going over to swim with the cousins.  The kids have a blast, and it's always nice to chat with my mother and sister in law.  I'm so thankful my kids have cousins nearby that they get to grow up with.

I dipped Everett in the water for the first time.  He didn't seem to mind.  He has no choice, he's going to have to love the water as much as the rest of this fishy family :)

Last week we also went to the Regional Park one day with friends.  I was so proud of myself for taking the kids even with a three month old baby. I had a baby strapped to me and pulled a big wagon full of all our gear down a huge hill.

I was very proud of Ethan.  Last year he was super scared of the water slides but this year he went right up and went down them a ton of times.

Everett is 4 months old!

Our little guy is four months old and sweeter than ever!  Seriously, we are soaking up his baby-ness. It's so much fun to have a baby in the house again :)  Yes, a lot of work, but still fun.  He's such a happy guy and so easy to please.  As long as his needs are met, he's happy and pretty calm.

Stats: 14 pounds 9 oz. and 25.5 inches long.   His eyes seem to be turning light brown/hazel (like mine) and his hair is coming in blonde (just like Alayna's did).
Milestones: This month he has started to grasp things and is so excited to be able to hold some toys. He started giggling and that is just about the best sound ever.  He loves to watch his siblings and smiles when they talk to him.

Sleep: Everett wakes up once per night most nights (some nights twice, which isn't fun). He's not consistent, the time at which he wakes varies every night.  He is usually up for the day by 6:00 or 6:30. He's an early bird. I would not mind AT ALL if he started sleeping through th…

12 years

Matt and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary on July 13th.  My mom came over and watched all three kids all day and we took off to one of our favorite places, Newport Beach.  It was a perfect day and we enjoyed every minute!  We layed on the beach, read magazines, dozed a little, swam in the ocean, and went out to dinner.  Perfection!

This was my first time every lugging along a pump to the beach :)  lol.
We had dinner at Newport Landing, which overlooks the peninsula.
We both ordered a very yummy fish.  Whenever I'm on the coast it's a must to eat seafood :)
I can't beleive it's already been 12 years.  Not to sound too cheesey, but it sure has been wonderful!!!  I am thankful every day for Matt.  It feels like I hardly remember life before I was married to Matt :)

Colorado Road Trip

I'll have you know it took me FIVE days to get this post up.  Between our slow internet and my lack of free time, I worked on it a little each day :)

At the end of June/beginning of July We drove all the way to Colorado. It was important to me that we visit my grandparents so that they could meet Everett, their newest great grandchild.

It is quite a long drive to make (1100 miles), especially with three children, but really it went pretty well.  The big kids watched movies the whole time and Everett did as well as a three month old could. We broke the trip up into two parts, doing the bulk of our driving the first day and then staying in a hotel.  We also stayed in a hotel in Glenwood Springs one night just for fun.

The hotel we stayed at in Glenwood Springs had a huge indoor pool and waterslide, which the kids loved. Ethan went on the waterslide non stop. We took the gondola up to the top of the mountain and hung out of a bit.  I did the zip lining.  Glenwood Springs is a very …
