The Oates Visit and Matt's Birthday

We were SO very excited to have the Oates come and stay with us for 5 nights.  They packed A LOT into their visit and stayed quite busy.  The fun part was that we got to see them more than we otherwise would have, since they stayed with us.

They arrived on a Thursday and we hosted dinner.  It was so much fun to have everyone there.

                                                                   Everett loves Oatsey!

Thanks to my selfie stick, I got a cell phone picture of us all, lol.

The guys all wore their matching Glorieta Camp shirts that James got them.

The kids all love each other too!

Friday and Saturday they were busy all day long.  Saturday is when our family celebrated Matt's birthday.  Monday was his actual birthday, but that was the golf tournament. For breakfast I made him cinnamon rolls from scratch and we gave him his gifts.  We did housework all day, but then the Flores' came over for dinner.  I made a yummy pork tenderloin with an apple cider brandy glaze, and a yummy spagetti squash gratin.  Jolene brought homeade pumpkin pie.

Sunday we went to church and then the Mercers had everyone over for dinner, so that was really nice.

Monday was WONDERFUL.  The guys went to the golf tournament (the whole reason they came over this particular weekend).  I think this was the 12th year these four have golfed together.  They always put together a ridiculous looking matching ensemble :)  And no, the other foursomes do not match, they just think it's fun :)

I had a babysitter come to watch my kids, and Faith and I spend the day at Glen Ivy.  We had such a relaxing day and the weather was perfect.  We layed in the sun, had drinks, floated on our rafts, did the mud, talked all day and relaxed!

We were sad to see them go!  It was so nice to have them here.

My Birthday

My birthday fell on a Monday this year, so we celebrated over the weekend.  On Friday the Flores' crew came over to our house and we had a yummy meal and a yummy dessert that Jolene brought.  It is always wonderful to spend time with them.

The only picture I took was of the kids eating.

On Sunday my mom made me my requested crab leg dinner, and I enjoyed it a lot!  The funniest part of the night was that she got me a pinata.  It was actually the first pinata I've ever had in my life.  We all got a good laugh out of it, and of course the kids loved the candy!  I was using a crutch to hit it because we didn't have a bat, lol!

I wasn't planning on doing anything on my actual birthday, but Lea and Teresa convinced me to go out for drinks, and I'm glad I did :)  It was a nice couple of hours chit chatting.

Thanks to everyone who made me feel special!!!

So many moments to update....

I can't beleive it's been a month since I blogged.  Anything fun on the computer definitely takes a back seat this time of year, as I try to be super productive during the times I get to work.  We have had a great month, here are a few snippets from October, in no particular order....

Everett loves to walk the dog, lol.

Everett loves when his siblings get home from school, and especially when they will play with him.

A day off of school meant we could finally get to Oak Glen for some apple cider donuts and fresh air :)

Between these two... there's a lot of chaos!  lol.  This is why I get nothing done.

Nutella anyone?

Playing out front after school.

A selfie while we were getting our family photos taken.

Jolene and Evangeline came out one morning and we went to Oak Glen with the littles.  It was lovely!

Trying to play Trouble with Everett messing up the peices, lol.

A little afternoon date with Ethan.  It's SO hard to find time to be able to take them out by themselves, and I love when we are able to do it (and so do they).

We went to Greenspot Farms for an hour after school one day.  That place is so cute.

Love these three pumpkins of mine so much!

The day before my birthday we went up to Jenk's Lake for a while and walked around.  The water is lower than normal, but it's still pretty!

Everett and Alayna watching the workers tear down the gazebo.

Alayna has had her fair share of sick days since starting kindergarten :(

Everett loves sweet potatoes, but he will not let anyone else feed him.

I got to take Alayna out one night to meet up with Kendall and Kelly for dinner at Chick fil et, then we went to Taelyn's dance studio where the girls tried out a breakdancing class.  Alayna said she's okay if she doesn't do the dance class again, haha.  I wasn't surprised, she's not much for organized activities like that.

We met up with Flores crew at the Hemet Fair.  It was a cute little fair, and it was our first time ever going.

Siblings Playing Together

I am SO behind in blogging. I have so much to share.  I will probably post a bunch this week and it will all be out of order.

I snapped these pictures of the kids playing in the backyard after school one day.  It warms my heart so much when they all three play together.  They were having fun dragging Everett around on this blanket.  Giggles were heard by all!
