Recent Updates

-I just finished my 21st book of the year.  It's been so much fun keeping track of what I read and want to read via Goodreads.  I started "Me Before You" last night, which comes out as a movie soon.   I've found myself not so interested in TV in the evenings lately and preferring to read.  I've always loved to read, but I have never read this many books in such a short time :)

-I've been loving making bowls of all sorts for lunch.  This week it's been red quinoa, black beans, sweet potato, sauteed veggies a little avocado and lots of salsa on top.

-I've finally been working out more consistently lately.  Lea and I have gone running together after school drop-off in Redlands and it makes running SO MUCH more fun.  My goal for the summer is to wake up at 6:00 three times a week and workout for an hour before Matt goes to work.  Hoping I can make it happen :)  I've also been loving my FitBit.

-Thursday is the last day of school and then it's summertime!  I'm ready to soak up time with my kids and enjoy slow days together.

-This is the first summer we are going into summer with no plans.  We are however looking very forward to enjoying our pool a lot and taking several day trips to the beach.

This past weekend was so wonderful.  It was filled with lots of relaxing and enjoying my family, which is the best.  On Sunday after Everett napped we went hiking on a part of Crafton Hills that we had never explored (the Grape Street Trailhead).  It was fun and super close to our house.  I bribed Alayna with a prize if she would have a good attitude the whole time, and I must say it was our most enjoyable hike in a long time.  Everett was happy the entire time too.

Earlier in the day on Sunday Ethan and I also went for a bike ride, which was really nice.  He is a great rider so it's super fun to go riding with just him :)

We watched the Flores kids one night for a couple of hours while Danny and Jolene went out to dinner.  The kids loved it :)

Matt took the day off work and Marlene babysat and we both took Ethan on his fieldtrip to the wild animal park.  It was open ended so we just got to do what we wanted all day.  It was so much fun to just have one big kid with us and no stroller or cranky toddler :)

Everett playing in the sand at school drop off the other day :)  He's at such a stinking cute age right now.  I wish I could freeze hi for a bit!

Alayna's class at her end of the year fieldtrip to the park.

We've enjoyed several swims and are super excited for summer!  I've never been so excited for hot weather :)  We've been working hard on getting this area landscaped and we're almost finished!

The Holland Festival at RCS a few weeks back.
Alayna performing with her class, she's on the very left :)

Alayna with her "all about me" Oso she did for school.

Playing out front :)

This was from Jeffrey's 4th birthday a few weeks ago.  Alayna and I stayed home because she came home from school sick.

Matt took Ethan to the Cadet campout and rocket launching at the end of April. Ethan had such a blast.  Mike and his two older boys came out and launched rockets with them for the morning.

I can't believe you have read 21 books this year!! That is awesome! I've heard of, "Me Before You", so you'll have to tell me what you think. I can only imagine running is more fun with a friend. I have a hard time doing it even listening to an iPod. :) Will you go to the gym at 6am or do a DVD?
