Goodbye Floreses

It's been a sad week as the Floreses packed up and moved to Healdsburg.  Lots of tears were shed and we are so sad that they will no longer be near.  Of course we're thrilled for this new journey for them and we will visit, but man will we miss our bi-monthly dinners, beach days, pool days... and just being able to see them often.  Close friends that you do life with are truly such a joy and blessing.

Hanging out is always so much fun because everyone has a buddy... including the dogs!

They came over on Valentine's Day and it was the last time getting to have them over just for dinner.  The next time will have to be a trip!  We made a yummy dinner.

I met Jolene when I was 12.  That's only three years older than Ethan is right now.  We've always been like sisters, and of course we always will be.  But this is the first time we won't live in the same area.  She's been nearby for the last 23 years... 2/3 of my life!!!!

February Snapshots

I can't beleive it's the last day of February.

Ethan and I went on a hike up to the peak of the Crafton Hills one Saturday morning.  It was so much fun to do a harder hike and with no hiking backpack :)

Grainy picture, but I bought her this shirt and she loves it because it's the truth!  :)
Enjoying one of the few sunny and warm days we've had recently.  With all this cold and rain we have soaked up the days that are warmer and sunny :)
A bubble gun.... it brought him so much joy :)
As did this $1.00 balloon.... ahhh, it's the little things I tell you.  This was on a day that we found out we had to get the transmission replaced on my car.... which was $3,000..... ugh.  Adulting is hard sometimes!
We got to have a date night.  We had drinks at J. Riley distillery in Redlands and then went to King's Fish House for dinner.

Puddle Jumping

I let Everett jump in some puddles in the backyard during one of the breaks in rain one weekend when we got 5 inches over a few days. He of course thought it was quite fun :)  The big kids were at school, otherwise they would have been puddle jumping too!

Mud and Trouble

With all the rain we had we kept having to drain our pool extra... Matt had it draining out into the driveway one day and of course the kids discovered the mud right away...

This little nature loving Raggamuffin was quite pleased :)

Alayna at the Park

Alayna came along with me to a mini session, so I had to snap a few pictures of her afterwards :)  She loves climbing the Live Oak Trees at this park...

January Randoms

I've been busier than normal for January, I had a wedding and a few other sessions, hence my lack of blogging.

On the day after the Rose Parade (January 3rd this year), the kids and I went with my mom and the Hathcoats to see the Rose Parade floats on display.  It was really neat to see them up close.  It's amazing how much detail that goes into them that you just don't see on TV.  Alayna the naturalist was in heaven of course, loving figuring out what all of the different elements were.  Don't be fooled by my pictures, I was actually surprised at how crowded it was and pushing Everett in the stroller was quite challenging.  If we were to go again I would definitely want to go sans stroller.
It was fun getting to see the Hathcoats (my dad's sister Karri's family) while they were here.  The kids loved playing with my cousins Kyle and Kevin.
Alayna got an EZ Bake Oven for Christmas and enjoyed making a few things over our break.
Ethan was proud of this stru…
