Happy Birthday Jerrod!

My brother recently turned 33.  We had a nice dinner to celebrate his birthday with smoked ribs and corn bread.  We loved celebrating him!

Randoms from the past month

I got to go along with Ethan and his class to the Calico Ghost Town field trip.  I had never been before so was excited to see it.  The day we went was EXTREMELY windy and cold.  Apparently it's never that windy, haha.  They didn't even have the train running due to the wind.  We still had fun exploring and had a nice day.

Saturday morning Legos, jammies and Adventures in Oddessey (which Alayna has going in her room almost constantly).
I recently told Matt I had never tried Korean food.  We were able to randomly meet up for lunch one day so we tried it.  The verdict... I think I should have asked the Korean people what to order, haha.  I felt like my dish was really bland, even though it looked delicious.

Alayna spends A LOT of time at her desk doing art of all sorts.  I'm so glad we got this for her last fall.

Everett was excited for this Minion donut.
The kids took their first dip in the pool the other week, since it was up to a whopping 69 degrees... haha.  They last fo…

Spring Break

Spring break brought the kids and I some much needed respite.  We did a couple of things during the week and enjoyed a lot of down time at home.  It was wonderful!  We were happy to enjoy some gorgeous weather as well.

The kids and I went out to Whitewater Preserve one day, just to explore a bit and enjoy the beauty.

We enjoyed slow mornings.

And extra reading and coffee time for me.  I'm always reading a few books.  I have recently been reading this book and really enjoying the wisdom from it.
We took a bike ride one day.  I was proud of Alayna who stuck with us, despite not enjoying going uphill so much.  Where we live we have to endure lots of hills if we take a bike ride, haha.

Random selfie... because I realized I hadn't straight ironed my hair in over a year.  I always curl it.

I just adore spring time.  It's so beautiful when everything is green and blooming and the weather warms up.
We went on a hike one Sunday afternoon at El Dorado and ended up exploring and going further than we had before.  It was so pretty and fun.  We had to take turns carrying Everett on the way back.

I just love when everything is green!

Alayna loves picking wildflowers wherever she goes.
